Penny Dreadful was an idea pitched while I was at Mekanism for the Showtime Series Penny Dreadful. We had no assets, very little information, and two main things to go on: Monsters of Literature and Victorian London.
With those things in mind, we created The Penny Reader - A digital hub for all things Penny Dreadful that would pull in a user's facebook information and use it to populate a creepy, personalized paper.
Part of the Penny Reader was a few microsites that would tie loosely into the show's characters without giving too much away - The one I designed was called "Sell Your Body to Science", which used shady Victorian Pseudoscience to determine a person's physical worth, with the assumption being that they would be sold to Dr. Frankenstein for this price upon their demise.
Not a pitch we won, but a fun one to design!
