In Spring 2016, I participated in a group art show as part of Pictoplasma Conference in Berlin, which is focused on character-based art and design.
For the show I created a 2 part piece: a minicomic and a sculpture.
The minicomic is a pun-filled story of questionable taste and mild lewdness. It is about Betty, a humble titizen of a planet where every region is based on different body parts, who has to save her city when it is attacked by invaders.
12 pages, 4.5" X 6", with a 2-color silkscreen cover, all printed on acid-free, archival quality paper.
The sculpture is Betty herself, imagined almost as a deity, or at the very least a revered hero. She is round and pink, feminine but also somewhat alien, and very inspired by the Venus of Willendorf.
She is 13" tall and 8" across. Ceramic + acrylic.
